| Plateau
Point
Oil, 46" x 54",
framed - 1997,
in private collection
(Giclee prints, lithographs,
and notecards available)
A 6-mile hike from the South Rim via the Bright Angel Trail,
this view at Plateau Point is, in my own opinion, one of the best
and most easily accessible vistas in the park. The Colorado River
is in lower left. The Zoroaster Temple is on horizon center right
and the Brahma Temple is on horizon center left.

Something
Gained
Oil on Canvas, 24" x
20" - 1998,

View looking downstream in Marble Canyon below Redwall
Cavern. Water is total and complete abstraction for me.

The
Run at Horn Creek Rapids
Oil
on Canvas, 40" x 34" -
1998, in private
collection
This view is looking downstream through Horn
Creek rapids from river left, as if scouting the rapid before
running your boat through. Horn Creek is several miles below
Phantom Ranch and is one of the bigger stretches of whitewater
in Grand Canyon National Park. Morning light hits the cliffs
on the South Rim and across the Tonto Plateau as the sun begins
to reach into the inner gorge.
